BASE DESCRIPTION

Hey guys, Dark Barbarian here, and today we’re building a brand new Town Hall 9 hybrid base that does a great job protecting both your loot and trophies. This layout has several smart defensive features that make it difficult for attackers to break through easily.

So stick around for the base analysis, where I’ll explain why every building is placed where it is.

Now let’s get into the Base Analysis!

As you can see, the Town Hall is positioned right in the center of the base. This is a common approach in most of my hybrid layouts because the Town Hall is worth one star and also holds a decent amount of loot.

One of the strongest aspects of this base is the large number of compartments spread across the layout.

These compartments force attacking troops to break through several walls before reaching important defenses. Troops like Giants, Golems, and Pekkas often get stuck moving from one compartment to another, which slows down the attack significantly while our defenses continue dealing damage.

In many cases, this design can even lead to time failures.

when it comes to defenses, they’re strategically positioned to cover the entire base, making it a fortress from every direction.

The Mortars are placed closer to the outer compartments of the base.

At Town Hall 9, mortars are mainly useful for stopping spam attacks like BARCH or mass goblins, so keeping them slightly outward allows them to target those low-health troops early in the attack.

Their range also helps them cover a large portion of the base.

The Wizard Towers are spread across different compartments rather than being grouped together.

Since they deal splash damage to both air and ground troops, this placement ensures they protect multiple areas of the base.

Spreading them out also prevents attackers from destroying multiple Wizard Towers at once with lightning spells.

The Archer Towers are evenly distributed around the base.

Because of their long range, they provide consistent air defense coverage across the entire layout, making sure no side of the base becomes an easy entry point for air attacks.

The Air Defenses are placed in different compartments inside the base.

This prevents attackers from destroying multiple Air Defenses with lightning spells at once. Their placement allows them to cover a large portion of the base, making it harder for air strategies.

Air defenses are paired with Air Sweepers, they provide solid resistance against popular air strategies like LavaLoon and mass Dragons.

The X-Bows are positioned inside the central compartments of the base.

From this location, they are able to cover a huge portion of the layout while also protecting important defenses around the core.

They are set to both ground and air, making them effective against any type of attack.

Storages are placed in separate compartments instead of being clustered together. This design forces attackers to take down the entire base if they want all your loot. They’re also placed alternatively (gold, elixir, dark elixir) to ensure you don’t lose all of one resource type if one section is breached, for example, if we put all the gold storages on this side of the base, the attacker can take almost all your gold just by taking out this portion of the base. and if we are losing the loot, it’s better to lose it in a balanced way rather than losing all the loot of one kind of resource, so to avoid that, we place them alternatively, just like our base.

Moving on to traps, after analyzing a large number of attacks on this base, we’ve placed Spring Traps and Giant Bombs along common troop paths used by Hogs and Giants, significantly strengthening the base against ground attacks.

We’ve also placed bombs outside the walls to take out Wall Breakers. This can completely disrupt an attacker’s funnel, forcing troops to move toward outer trash buildings instead of entering the base, which often results in a failed attack.

Seeking Air Mines and Air Bombs are positioned to assist the Air Defenses in dealing with air troops such as Balloons, Dragons, Baby Dragons, and Lava Hounds.

Now coming to the outer buildings, these can be adjusted depending on how active you are in the game.

If you’re very active, you can spread them out more to make enemy funneling more difficult.

If you’re less active, you can keep them closer to the defenses so your collectors remain protected.

Just make sure not to place the same type of collectors together, otherwise attackers could easily take all of that resource from one side.

That’s it for the Base Analysis

Now, I’ve left a copy link for this base below so that you guys can copy it easily.

BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS

Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 9 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 9 you can get Maximum of 30 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 9 :-

  1. 1 Electro Dragon (Recommended)
  2. 1 Baby Dragon + 2 Valkyrie + 1 Wizard
  3. 1 Golem
  4. 1 Witch + 4 Wizards + 2 Archers
  5. 1 Lava Hound
  6. 1 Dragon + 2 Wizard + 2 Archer

Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 9.
