BASE DESCRIPTION
Hey guys this is dark barbarian, and today we are making a new Town Hall 14 hybrid base, this base is a hybrid base which means it will help us in saving our loot while still maintaining our trophies, I’m gonna talk more about this base in-depth in the base analysis part of the post, which will help you in understanding ins and outs of the base, so that you can decide for yourself if this base is worth switching to.
Let’s do the Base Analysis!
The core of our base features the town hall, which we have strategically placed and fortified with an array of defenses like wizard tower, tesla, inferno tower, eagle artillery and the scattershot. This ensures that the town hall is well-guarded and secure, given its high value of one star and the considerable amount of loot it contains.
One of the key strengths of our base lies in its numerous compartments, which are located throughout the base. This clever design serves to slow down the advancement of enemy troops, leading to their eventual defeat by either running out of time or troops. It’s worth noting that the walls can often trap troops like giants and golems due to the many compartments in the base.
now coming to the defenses, they are placed in such a way that they cover the whole base and the base remains strong from all the sides.
The wizard towers are spread out, so that they don’t get taken out altogether while providing a balance to the base. they are placed in such a way that they’re well protected and their range covers most of the defenses, hence, placing them in different compartments away from one another, would be the most appropriate choice, as you can see wizard towers’ range cover most of the defenses in their range which is exactly what we wanted, so next time when you are making a base yourself or you get it from somewhere else, make sure to check how many defenses are the wizard towers covering in their range, if its barely covering 1 or 2 defenses, then you may want to reconsider their placement.
At town hall 14, we have eight archer towers, which have been thoughtfully positioned throughout the base to ensure complete protection. These towers are situated in various compartments and have been placed to guard all of our storages and outer structures, while also providing defense against aerial attacks from all sides.
Cannons fill the rest of the spaces in the base and provide a great balance to the base which helps us in defending against ground attack armies.
Mortars start losing their importance as we start moving higher town hall levels, so there is no point in keeping them well protected in the center as they don’t provide much protection in return. we have placed them more towards the outer part of the base so that they can help us in countering spam attacks like BARCH, Mass Goblins, etc, They too are evenly placed and they cover pretty much of the base.
Air defenses are placed away from one another in different compartments to protect them from being taken out by lightning spells in a group. they are placed in compartments near the core of the base, they have air sweepers well paired with them contributing to an increase in the protection against air attacks like lava loons, mass dragons, and electro dragons.
Inferno towers are placed near the center of the base making the core of the base stronger, and guarding our most important stuff on this base, like X-bows, town hall, wizard towers, dark elixir storage, and air defenses.
you have to set the inferno tower mode according to the armies you’re getting attacked with, if you’re getting attacked with lower hitpoint but higher troop count armies, like miners, bowlers, and witches, then you should set it on multiple mode but if you’re getting attacked with high hitpoint troops like electro dragons, pekkas and golem, then setting it on single-mode would be a better option.
The Xbows are spread out in a way they provide cover to pretty much the whole base, they are set on both ground and air as I was getting attacked by both ground and air troops.
eagle artillery and scattershot are placed in the core of the base and they help to keep enemy troops away from the core and help other defense building out of the core.
coming to the heroes, this is where some people end up making mistakes, underestimating their effectiveness they place them in some outer compartment from where they can be easily lured, but in our base, recognizing their effectiveness, I’ve placed them right where they need in the base like archer queen paired with this air defense to take down lava hound in no time.
Now, coming to the storages, they are placed in different compartments, unlike the bases you usually see where most of the storages are placed in a single compartment. each storage is placed in a different compartment which means the opponent has to take out the whole base in order to get all the loot.
We’ve also placed the storages alternatively, so that even if the opponent takes out this portion of the base, we don’t lose all the storages of the same kind of resources, for example, if we put all the gold storages on this side of the base, the attacker can take almost all your gold just by taking out this portion of the base. and if we are losing the loot, it’s better to lose it in a balanced way rather than losing all the loot of one kind of resource, so to avoid that, we place them alternatively, just like our base.
our Dark Elixir storage is well protected near the core compartment of the base, which is quite hard to get into, and we also placed dark elixir drill inside the base, which means that our dark elixir is going to be safe in this base.
Now coming to the placement of the traps, after observation of so many attacks on this base, spring traps and giant bombs are strategically placed in different compartments according to the pathing of defense attacking troops like hogs and giants, which helps in making this base stronger against ground attacks.
these giant bombs are placed here to takedown all supporting troops like wizards, witches, and barch, etc, at the same time.
we have placed those bombs out there so that they can take out the wall breakers, which can potentially ruin attackers’ funnel as the troops wouldn’t be able to go inside the base and they’ll end up going for the outer trash buildings which will end up ruining the attack.
these air bombs and air mines are placed right where they are needed providing the overall balance to the base which helps us to reduce enemy air troop’s health, so the air defenses can finish them off.
coming to the outer buildings, I’ve placed them alternatively, like I’ve avoided placing the same kind of collectors close to one another, I see most people not putting enough thought while placing those outer buildings so they end up placing the same kind of collectors all together, these collectors become an easy target to attackers when placed together, hence it is important to spread them out to make it harder for opponents to take them out.

BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS
Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 14 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 14 you can get Maximum of 45 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 14 :-
- 1 Lava Hound + 1 Head Hunter + 9 Archers (Recommended)
- 1 Lava Hound + 2 Head Hunter + 3 Goblins
- 2 Super Minnion + 2 Head Hunter + 3 Archers
- 1 Inferno Dragon + 2 Head Hunter + 7 Archers
- 1 Lava Hound + 1 Ice Golem
Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 14.
