BASE DESCRIPTION

Hey guys, this is Dark Barbarian, and today we’re building a brand-new Town Hall 14 hybrid base. This base is designed to protect your loot while still helping you maintain your trophies, which makes it perfect for players who want a balance between farming and pushing.

I’ll be explaining everything in detail later in the base analysis section, where we’ll go through the important defensive placements and the logic behind this layout so you can decide if this base is worth switching to.

Let’s do the Base Analysis!

Starting with the Town Hall, you can see that it is placed slightly toward the core of the base inside a strong compartment. This makes it harder for attackers to reach it early in the attack. Since the Town Hall provides a star and contains a large amount of loot, protecting it is extremely important in a hybrid base.

At Town Hall 14, the Town Hall itself acts as a powerful defense because of the Giga Inferno. Once enemy troops enter its range, it activates and deals heavy damage over time.

One of the biggest strengths of this base is the multi-compartment structure spread across the entire layout. Instead of allowing troops to move directly toward the core, the compartments force them to travel through multiple layers of walls.

This breaks troop pathing and slows down heavy units like Golems, Pekkas, and Giants, giving the defenses more time to eliminate them. Because of this design, attackers often lose momentum before they can reach the most important parts of the base.

now coming to the defenses, they are placed in such a way that they cover the whole base and the base remains strong from all the sides.

The Eagle Artillery is also placed in the core since it’s one of the most powerful defenses at Town Hall 14. Keeping it centralized protects it from early takedowns and allows it to stay active for most of the attack. Its massive range covers nearly the entire base, excluding the first seven tiles, which are already defended by other structures, making it extremely effective against high-level attacks.

This base also features two Scattershots, which are placed in separate compartments to provide wide defensive coverage.

Scattershots deal heavy splash damage to both ground and air troops, so keeping them spread out prevents attackers from destroying both with a single push. Their placement allows them to weaken enemy troops before they reach the core of the base.

The Inferno Towers are placed inside protected compartments close to the core.

They cover the Town Hall, Clan Castle, Eagle Artillery, airdefenses, and x-bows — all critical structures. This makes core pushes extremely dangerous.

Make sure to configure them based on the types of armies you’re facing. If you’re up against armies with more troops but lower hitpoints, like miners, bowlers, and witches, use the multiple mode. If you’re facing high hitpoint troops like Electro dragons, pekkas, and golems, use the single mode.

The Air Defenses are distributed around the base rather than being grouped together. This prevents attackers from taking out multiple air defenses with lightning spells.

Their placement ensures that air troops are always within range of at least one Air Defense, making strategies like Dragons, LavaLoon, or Electro Dragons more difficult to execute.

The Air Sweepers are also positioned in a way that pushes air troops away from the core, slowing them down and giving the defenses more time to deal damage.

The Wizard Towers are placed in different compartments to provide splash damage across the base. Their positioning helps defend against swarm troops and also supports nearby defenses.

Meanwhile, the Archer Towers are positioned along the outer compartments, giving strong coverage against both air and ground troops around the perimeter.

At Town Hall 14, Mortars are not very effective against high-hitpoint troops, so placing them in the core isn’t necessary.

Instead, they are placed closer to the outer areas, where their long range allows them to target spam troops like BARCH, G BARCH or mass goblins. Even from the outside, their range covers a large portion of the base and provides consistent splash damage.

Storages are spread across different compartments, unlike bases that cluster all storages together in one area. This makes it harder for attackers to loot everything. Each storage is in a separate compartment, forcing the attacker to take out the whole base to steal all the resources. never put the same type of storages on one side of the base, for example, if we put both the gold storages on this side of the base, the attacker can take almost all your gold just by taking out this portion of the base. so in order to avoid that. we place them alternatively, just like this base.

When it comes to trap placement, they are positioned along common troop pathing routes.

Spring traps are placed in areas where hog riders, giants, and miners are most likely to travel. This allows us to catch them off guard.

Small bombs and giant bombs are positioned near outer walls to eliminate wall breakers and disrupt funneling. If attackers fail to open the base properly, their troops will walk around the outside instead of entering the core — completely ruining their plan.

Air bombs and seeking air mines are placed near air defenses to weaken incoming air troops before they can destroy the defenses.

Now coming to the outer buildings, you can customize their placement depending on your preference.

However, make sure not to place the same type of collectors together, because that would allow attackers to steal a large amount of loot very easily.

Another useful tip is to spread them out slightly, which helps prevent Electro Dragons from getting too much value with their chain lightning attacks.

BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS

Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 14 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 14 you can get Maximum of 45 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 14 :-

  1. 1 Lava Hound + 1 Head Hunter + 9 Archers (Recommended)
  2. 1 Lava Hound + 2 Head Hunter + 3 Goblins
  3. 2 Super Minnion + 2 Head Hunter + 3 Archers
  4. 1 Inferno Dragon + 2 Head Hunter + 7 Archers
  5. 1 Lava Hound + 1 Ice Golem

Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 14.
