Hey guys, dark barbarian here, today we’re making a new town hall 10 base, this base is an adaptation from my TH9 base, that base worked really well for me, so thought why not make a TH10 version of that base, so that’s what we’re going to do today, this is a hybrid base, that means it’ll help you in saving your loot while maintaining your trophies, I’ll be doing a detailed breakdown of the base in the base analysis part
let’s do the base analysis
The first thing you can notice is that the town hall is well protected in the center because it has some loot in it and it is worth one star, so it is one of the basic rules to keep in mind while making a hybrid base.
Mortars start losing their importance as we start moving higher town hall levels, so there is no point in keeping them well protected in the center as they don’t provide much protection in return. we have placed them more towards the outer part of the base so that they can help us in countering spam attacks like BARCH, Mass Goblins, etc, They too are evenly placed and they cover the whole base.
the placements of archer towers are done in such a way that their range covers the whole base, which means the base is well secured against air attacks from all sides.
The wizard towers are spread out, so that they don’t get taken out altogether while providing a balance to the base. they are placed in such a way they provide protection to both main defenses in the core and the defenses towards the outer side of the base. they also provide air splash damage coverage to pretty much most of the base covering a lot of defenses in their range.
Air defenses are placed away from one another in different compartments to protect them from being taken out by lightning spells in a group. they are placed in compartments near the core of the base, they have air sweepers well paired with them contributing to an increase in the protection against air attacks like lava loon, mass dragons.
inferno towers are pretty much the most important defense we have at town hall 10, so it is our utmost priority to keep them safe while making full use of their potential to increase the effectiveness of the base, hence, I’ve decided to place them near the core of the base, because here they are well protected as well as their range covers a lot of main defenses and important stuff like the town hall and dark elixir storage.
you can set the mode of inferno tower according to the armies you’re getting attacked with, for low hitpoint and high troop count armies like miners, bowlers, witches multiple modes is recommended, but against stronger armies with high hitpoint and lower troop count like golems, electro dragons and pekkas, single-mode would be a better choice.
The Xbows are spread out in a way they provide cover to pretty much the whole base, they are set on both ground and air as I was getting attacked by both ground and air armies, setting it on the ground only just for the increased range isn’t really worth it.
Cannons fill the rest of the spaces in the base and provide a great balance to the base which helps us in defending against ground attack armies.
overall, the defensive placements are evenly done.
Now, coming to the storages, they are placed in different compartments, unlike the bases you usually see where most of the storages are placed in a single compartment. each storage is placed in a different compartment that means the opponent has to take out the whole base in order to get all the loot.
We’ve also placed the storages alternatively, so that even if the opponent takes out this portion of the base, we don’t lose all the storages of the same kind of resources, for example, if we put all the gold storages on this side of the base, the attacker can take almost all your gold just by taking out this portion of the base. and if we are losing the loot, it’s better to lose it in a balanced way rather than losing all the loot of one kind of resource, so to avoid that, we place them alternatively, just like our base.
our Dark Elixir storage is well protected in the core compartment of the base, which is quite hard to get into, which means that our dark elixir is going to be safe in this base.
we have also kept our dark elixir drills inside unlike most people who carelessly throw them outside unknowingly hurting their dark elixir farming process.
Now coming to the placement of the traps, after observation of so many attacks on this base, spring traps, and giant bombs are strategically placed in different compartments according to the pathing of defense attacking troops like hogs and giants, which helps in making this base stronger against ground attacks.
now coming to the outer buildings you can customize where you want to put them according to your choice. just make sure you don’t put the same type of collectors all together, otherwise, the opponent will take all your loot in the collectors very easily.

Even though the base itself is strong enough, having troops in your clan castle can help a lot, as clan castle troops will help you in wasting opponents troops and time, so having an electro dragon is recommended but if your clan can’t donate you that, anything will do the job. BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS
Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 10 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 10 you can get Maximum of 35 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 10 :-
- 1 Electro Dragon + 1 Balloon (Recommended)
- 1 Baby Dragon + 2 Valkyrie + 2 Wizard
- 1 Golem + 1 Wizard + 1 Archer
- 1 Witch + 5 Wizards + 3 Archers
- 1 Lava Hound + 1 Balloon
- 1 Dragon + 3 Wizard + 1 Archer
Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 10.
