BASE DESCRIPTION 

Hey guys, I’m Dark BarBarian, today we’re making a new Townhall 9 Hybrid base, so the town hall is going to be in the center and the storages are going to be well protected, in case you don’t know what a hybrid base is, it is a base which has features of both trophy and farming base, it helps us in saving our loot while maintaining our trophies. this base worked pretty well for me in the league range of Gold 1 to crystal 3, there, I found a lot of dead bases filled with loot to farm my base using strategies like GIBARCH and even if I lost some trophies while attacking for loot, this base helped me in maintaining trophies so that I could stay in this league range.

Opponents were having a hard time getting one star on this base when I didn’t have anything in the clan castle for defense, so I’m sure if I had something in the clan castle it would have been even more effective and I’m assuming most of you are going to be new Town hall 9s so your defenses aren’t upgraded so having clan castle troops for defense is a must. so that’s it, use this base in the league range I mentioned before and have something in your clan castle for defense, I’m sure this base is going to work like a charm.

The first thing you can notice is that the town hall is well protected in the center because it has some loot in it and it is worth one star, so it is one of the basic rules to keep in mind while making a hybrid base that your town hall should be protected.

Now coming to the defenses, they are placed in such a way that they cover the whole base and the base remains strong from all the sides. The wizard towers are the only splash damage buildings we have at TownHall 9 that can attack both ground and air troops so we have placed them in different compartments so that they don’t get taken out altogether and provide splash damage coverage to the entire base.

archer towers are placed in each corner of the base so that they cover most of the base. mortars too are evenly placed and they cover the whole base. overall the defenses are evenly distributed. The air defenses are well protected in the center and they cover the whole base and the air sweepers cover a lot of defenses, so overall this base performs pretty well against air attacks, I have added air attack replays, in the end, to show you how well this base works against them.

The Xbows are well protected in the center and they are set to both ground and air because as per my observation, I was getting attacked by both ground and air armies, setting it on ground only just for the increased range isn’t really worth it

Coming to storages, they are evenly placed in different compartments, this is the mistake that most beginner base designers make that they place all the storages in the center, and defenses in the outer compartments. so once the attacker break through the compartment of defenses they get access to all the loot. which is not the case in this base because the storages are placed in different compartments, the attacker has to take out the whole base in order to get all the loot. also never put the same type of storages on one side of the base, for example, if we put both the gold storages on this side of the base, the attacker can take almost all your gold just by taking out this portion of the base. so in order to avoid that. we place them alternatively, just like this base.

The dark elixir storage is placed in one of the central compartment of the base and to protect it, we have placed our queen and dual teslas on that side of the base and if you have a double cannon you can place it there to increase the protection further.

Now coming to the placement of the traps, after observation of so many attacks on this base, I noticed that this is the side where most people are likely to start their attack from because they wanted our dark elixir, so I have placed a lot of traps on this side of the base like we have placed those bombs out there so that they can take out the wall breakers, which can potentially ruin attackers funnel as the troops wouldn’t be able to go inside the base and they’ll end up going for the outer trash buildings which will end up ruining the attack. spring traps and giant bombs are strategically placed in different compartments according to the pathing of defense attacking troops like hogs and giants, which helps in making this base stronger against ground attacks.

Teslas are placed in pairs, due to their high damage per second they become deadly when they are placed in a pair or as a farm especially near a high hitpoint building like gold storage, as by the time opponent troops take out that building the teslas would have already done a lot of damage. the seeking air mines are placed near the air defenses so that they can help the air defenses in taking out the lava hound while the air bombs are placed a little away from the air defense as they wouldn’t be able to do much against the lava hound but they would be lethal against the balloons that are coming behind the lava hound.

now coming to the outer buildings you can customize where you want to put them according to your choice. you can spread them out more to make the funnel trickier, or you can do it the way I made it, it’s up to you just make sure you don’t put the same type of collectors all together, otherwise, the opponent will take all your loot in the collectors very easily.

BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS

Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 9 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 9 you can get Maximum of 30 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 9 :-

1. 1 Electro Dragon (Recommended)
2. 1 Baby Dragon + 2 Valkyrie + 1 Wizard
3. 1 Golem
4. 1 Witch + 4 Wizards + 2 Archers
5. 1 Lava Hound 
6. 1 Dragon + 2 Wizard + 2 Archer

Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 9.
