BASE DESCRIPTION

Hey guys, what’s up! Dark Barbarian here, and today I’m bringing you a brand-new Town Hall 12 hybrid base.
This base is designed to help you protect your loot while still maintaining your trophies — so if you’re farming but don’t want to drop cups, this is going to be perfect for you.
Make sure you go through the full base analysis because I’m going to explain every single placement and the reasoning behind it, so you can decide if this base fits your playstyle.
Alright, let’s get into the base analysis.

Alright, let’s start with the Town Hall.
As you can see, the Town Hall is positioned slightly off-center but still heavily protected within multiple inner compartments. It’s surrounded by high-damage defenses and layered walls, which makes it very difficult to reach directly.
Since this is a hybrid base, protecting that one star and the loot inside is extremely important. An attacker cannot simply snipe it — they must commit heavily into the base.

One of the biggest strengths of this base is its compartment design.
The layout is divided into multiple small, tightly packed sections. These compartments are strategically arranged so that when troops break into one area, they are funneled into specific paths.
As they move through those paths, they’re constantly taking damage from nearby defenses and triggering traps placed along the way. This design slows down heavy units like giants, golems, and pekkas, and it often forces attackers into time failures because they have to break through layer after layer of walls.
Now, moving on to the defenses — they’re positioned in a way that provides full coverage of the base, keeping it strong and balanced from every direction.

Mortars are placed on the outer compartments, and their primary job is to deal with spam-style attacks like BARCH, G-BARCH, and mass goblins. This placement gives them a wide coverage radius across most of the base.
Now let’s talk about the Eagle Artillery.

It’s placed in the center of the base, which is exactly where your strongest defense should be at Town Hall 12. From this position, it covers the entire base ,except for the first seven tiles, which are protected by other defenses.
It’s also surrounded by compartments and strong defenses, making it very hard to eliminate early in the attack. That means it stays active for most of the raid, constantly applying pressure and forcing the attacker to panic.
The Inferno Towers are placed inside protected compartments close to the core.

They cover the Town Hall, Clan Castle, Eagle Artillery, airdefenses, and x-bows — all critical structures. This makes core pushes extremely dangerous.
Make sure to configure them based on the types of armies you’re facing. If you’re up against armies with more troops but lower hitpoints, like miners, bowlers, and witches, use the multiple mode. If you’re facing high hitpoint troops like Electro dragons, pekkas, and golems, use the single mode.

The X-Bows are placed in four well-protected compartments around the core and are set to target both ground and air troops.
At Town Hall 12, you will face a mix of air and ground armies, so limiting them to ground just for extra range isn’t worth it. Keeping them on both makes the base more balanced overall.

The Air Defenses are separated into different compartments so they cannot be destroyed together with lightning spells.
Their coverage overlaps nicely, protecting almost the entire base inside the walls. When combined with other air-targeting defenses, this layout becomes very strong against air strategies.
The Air Sweepers are positioned to disrupt common attack paths and push back troops like LavaLoon, Mass Dragons, and Electro Dragons. That delay gives your defenses extra time to eliminate them.
The Wizard Towers are spread evenly throughout the base.

This prevents them from being taken out by a single spell and allows their splash damage to support multiple compartments. They are positioned to protect storages and key defenses, making them extremely effective against swarm troops like miners, hog riders, and bats.
The Bomb Towers are placed in compartments where ground troops are most likely to pass.
They work extremely well alongside Wizard Towers, Hero King, and bomb traps. When miners or hog riders enter these sections, they’re already taking damage — and once the Bomb Tower explodes, it deals massive splash damage that can wipe out large portions of the army.
The outer compartments are reinforced with Archer Towers and Cannons, spaced evenly for balanced coverage.

Archer Towers provide consistent defense against both air and ground troops, while Cannons strengthen the base against ground-heavy armies. Their spacing prevents attackers from overwhelming one side too easily.

Storages are spread across different compartments, unlike bases that cluster all storages together in one area. This makes it harder for attackers to loot everything. Each storage is in a separate compartment, forcing the attacker to take out the whole base to steal all the resources. never put the same type of storages on one side of the base, for example, if we put both the gold storages on this side of the base, the attacker can take almost all your gold just by taking out this portion of the base. so in order to avoid that. we place them alternatively, just like this base.
Trap placement is based on common troop pathing.

Spring traps and giant bombs are placed in areas where hog riders, giants, and miners are most likely to travel. This allows us to catch them off guard.
Small bombs are positioned near outer walls to eliminate wall breakers and disrupt funneling. If attackers fail to open the base properly, their troops will walk around the outside instead of entering the core — completely ruining their plan.
Air bombs and seeking air mines are placed near air defenses to weaken incoming air troops before they can destroy the defenses.

now coming to the outer buildings you can customize where you want to put them according to your choice. just make sure you don’t put the same type of collectors all together, otherwise, the opponent will take all your loot in the collectors very easily.
And that wraps up the base analysis.
Even though the base itself is strong enough, having troops in your clan castle can help a lot, as clan castle troops will help you in wasting opponents troops and time. Now go straight to the down below I’ve left a copy link for this base, so that you can conveniently copy it.
BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS
Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 12 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 12 you can get Maximum of 40 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 12 :-
- 1 Baby Drag + 1 Ice Golem + 1 Witch + 3 Goblin (Recommended)
- 1 Lava Hound + 2 Balloon
- 2 Ice Golem + 1 Baby Dragon
- 3 Witch + 4 Archers
- 40 Archers
- 1 Witch + 4 Headhunters + 4 Goblins
Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 12.
