BASE DESCRIPTION

Hey guys, what’s up! It’s Dark Barbarian here, and today I’m bringing you a brand new Town Hall 14 Hybrid Base that’s designed to protect both your loot and your trophies. This base has been tested in legend league and even in lower trophy ranges, and it holds up pretty well against most attack strategies.
I’ll walk you through all the important features in the base analysis, so make sure to stick around till the end to understand why this base works and how you can get the most value from it.
Let’s do the Base Analysis!

First of all, the Town Hall is placed near the core of the base, which is essential at TH14 because it now acts like a defense with its Giga Inferno and poison bomb. By keeping it centralized, we make it harder for attackers to reach it early in the raid. This helps us protect the one-star and gives the defending Clan Castle and Giga Inferno time to wear down the attacker’s army.
One of this base’s biggest strengths is the use of multiple compartments, which are spread out all across the layout. This design slows down enemy troops significantly because they have to break through several walls and layers to reach the important parts of the base.

High HP troops like Golems, Pekkas, or Giants often get distracted or funneled into the wrong compartments, while our defenses pick them off. This setup helps drain time from the attacker’s clock and often forces a fail before they can even reach the core.

Each outer section of the base has an Archer Tower, ensuring both ground and air defense across the entire perimeter. They cover everything except the core, which is already protected by the Giga Inferno.

Wizard Towers are spaced apart throughout the base. This way, they don’t all get taken out together by a single spell or push. Their splash damage helps clean up swarms of smaller troops, especially in those outer compartments.

As we move into higher Town Hall levels, Mortars become less essential for core defense. So instead of putting them deep inside, I’ve placed them on the outer edges of the base. This makes them more useful for countering cheap spam attacks like BARCH, g barch, Mass Goblins, or Giants.
Even though they’re on the outside, they’re well distributed to ensure splash coverage all around the base.

The Air Defenses are placed in separate compartments, spaced far enough apart so they can’t all be wiped out with a single spell combo like Lightning. Each one covers a large section of the base and overlaps with key zones.
Air Sweepers are carefully positioned to push back air troops like Balloons and Dragons, slowing them down and making them easier to eliminate. Together, these setups make it hard for air-based armies like LavaLoon or Electro Drags to gain momentum.

The Inferno Towers are located in the center of the base, helping protect the most valuable structures—Town Hall, eagle artillery, Dark Elixir Storage, and x-bows.
You can set their mode based on the attacks you’re facing. If you’re mostly being hit by swarms like Witches, Miners, or Bowlers, go with multi-target mode. But if you’re facing tanky troops like Golems, Electro Dragons, or Pekkas, single-target is more effective.

The Eagle Artillery is another key defense at TH14, so I’ve tucked it deep in the core where it’s protected by high-HP buildings and layered defenses. From there, it covers almost the entire base with its massive range, except for the first 7 tiles, which are already guarded by other defensive structures.
Positioning it centrally ensures it survives longer and gets more value, especially during long or heavy-hitting attacks.

The X-Bows are placed to provide maximum coverage and support to nearby defenses. They’re all set to both ground and air modes, which is especially important because attackers are using mixed strategies—some air, some ground. This setup ensures the base isn’t caught off-guard.

At TH14, you get two Scattershots, and they are absolute beasts on defense. I’ve placed them in compartments where they can cover wide areas of the base with splash damage—hitting both ground and air targets.
Their placement helps weaken groups of high-damage troops before they even reach the core, making it easier for the rest of the defenses to clean up.

Now, coming to the storages, they are placed in different compartments, unlike the bases you usually see where most of the storages are placed in a single compartment. each storage is placed in a different compartment which means the opponent has to take out the whole base in order to get all the loot.
We’ve also placed the storages alternatively, so that even if the opponent takes out this portion of the base, we don’t lose all the storages of the same kind of resources, for example, if we put all the gold storages on this side of the base, the attacker can take almost all your gold just by taking out this portion of the base. and if we are losing the loot, it’s better to lose it in a balanced way rather than losing all the loot of one kind of resource, so to avoid that, we place them alternatively, just like our base.
Our Dark Elixir Storage is placed right at the core, inside a tough compartment that’s hard to reach. With heavy defenses guarding it, your Dark Elixir is going to be well-protected in most raids.

Now coming to the placement of the traps, After watching a bunch of attacks on this base, I’ve placed Spring Traps and giant bomb in spots where troops like Giants or Hog Riders are likely to walk, maximizing their elimination.
Bombs are positioned to stop Wall Breakers, which can mess up the attacker’s funnel. If the Wall Breakers fail, their troops won’t go where planned, which can completely ruin their strategy.
Meanwhile, Air Bombs and Seeking Air Mines are set up near Air Defenses so they can weaken or even destroy air troops before they get too far. This combo of traps really helps against Dragon, Balloon, or Electro Dragon attacks.

coming to the outer buildings, I’ve placed them alternatively, like I’ve avoided placing the same kind of collectors close to one another, I see most people not putting enough thought while placing those outer buildings so they end up placing the same kind of collectors all together, these collectors become an easy target to attackers when placed together, hence it is important to spread them out to make it harder for opponents to take them out.
That’s it for the Base Analysis
I’ve left a copy link for this base in this post, so that you guys can easily copy this base, I’ll see you guys in the next one.
BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS
Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 14 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 14 you can get Maximum of 45 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 14 :-
- 1 Lava Hound + 1 Head Hunter + 9 Archers (Recommended)
- 1 Lava Hound + 2 Head Hunter + 3 Goblins
- 2 Super Minnion + 2 Head Hunter + 3 Archers
- 1 Inferno Dragon + 2 Head Hunter + 7 Archers
- 1 Lava Hound + 1 Ice Golem
Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 14.
