BASE DESCRIPTION

Hey guys, Dark BarBarian here, and in this post, we’re building a brand-new Town Hall 9 hybrid base that I’m confident you’re going to enjoy. This layout comes with several strong features, which I’ll explain in detail as we move forward. Make sure you stick around for the base analysis, where I’ll walk you through the logic behind each placement.
Now, let’s dive into the Base Analysis!

Starting off with the Town Hall, you can clearly see that it’s placed securely in the core of the base, just like my previous hybrid layouts. This positioning is extremely important because the Town Hall is worth one star and also stores a fair amount of loot, so keeping it protected is always a top priority.

Another major highlight of this base is the large number of compartments used throughout the layout. These compartments are designed to slow down enemy troops significantly. Troops like Giants and Golems often struggle with pathing, getting stuck on walls while our defenses continuously deal damage, which can easily lead to time failures or incomplete attacks.
All of the defenses are positioned in a way that ensures balanced coverage from every side, making the base strong no matter where the attack starts.

As we move up in Town Hall levels, mortars start losing their overall value, which is why there’s no real benefit in placing them deep in the core. Instead, we’ve placed them closer to the outer sections of the base so they can effectively counter spam strategies like BARCH, mass Goblins, and similar attacks. Their positioning allows them to cover most of the base evenly.

At Town Hall 9, Wizard Towers are the only splash defenses that can hit both ground and air troops, so they play a very important role. We’ve placed them in separate compartments to prevent all of them from being taken out by lightning spells at once. This spread also allows them to provide splash coverage across a wide area, protecting both core defenses and outer structures.

Archer Towers are distributed evenly around the base, ensuring that their range covers the entire layout. This guarantees strong and consistent protection against air attacks from every direction.

When it comes to Air Defenses, they’re placed in individual compartments so they can’t be destroyed together by lightning spells. Their positioning is designed to cover a large portion of the base, ensuring that air troops are always within range no matter where they attack from. Air defenses are paired with Air Sweepers, they provide solid resistance against popular air strategies like LavaLoon and mass Dragons.

The X-Bows are kept extremely safe inside the central compartments of the base. From here, they cover a large portion of the layout and protect several key defenses. They are set to target both ground and air troops, making them effective against any type of attack. Because of their central placement, they’re often among the last defenses standing.

The Bomb Tower acts as a powerful trap against Hog Riders, Giants, and Miners. It attracts defense-targeting troops and deals massive damage when it goes down, making it a major threat to ground-based armies.

Cannons fill in the remaining defensive gaps throughout the base, helping maintain overall balance and strengthening the base against ground-focused attacks.

Now, coming to the storages, they are placed in different compartments, unlike the bases you usually see where most of the storages are placed in a single compartment. each storage is placed in a different compartment that means the opponent has to take out the whole base in order to get all the loot.
We’ve also placed the storages alternatively, so that even if the opponent takes out this portion of the base, we don’t lose all the storages of the same kind of resources, for example, if we put all the gold storages on this side of the base, the attacker can take almost all your gold just by taking out this portion of the base. and if we are losing the loot, it’s better to lose it in a balanced way rather than losing all the loot of one kind of resource, so to avoid that, we place them alternatively, just like our base.

Moving on to traps, after analyzing a large number of attacks on this base, we’ve placed Spring Traps and Giant Bombs along common troop paths used by Hogs and Giants, significantly strengthening the base against ground attacks.
We’ve also placed bombs outside the walls to take out Wall Breakers. This can completely disrupt an attacker’s funnel, forcing troops to move toward outer trash buildings instead of entering the base, which often results in a failed attack.
Seeking Air Mines and Air Bombs are positioned to assist the Air Defenses in dealing with air troops such as Balloons, Dragons, Baby Dragons, and Lava Hounds.

As for the outer buildings, their placement is flexible depending on how active you are. If you play regularly, you can spread them out more to make funneling harder, since you’ll be collecting loot frequently. If you’re less active, you can keep them closer to defenses like in this layout so they stay protected. Just remember not to group the same type of collectors together, or attackers can steal all your loot very easily.
That’s it for the Base Analysis
Now, I’ve left a copy link for this base below so that you guys can copy it easily.
BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS
Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 9 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 9 you can get Maximum of 30 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 9 :-
- 1 Electro Dragon (Recommended)
- 1 Baby Dragon + 2 Valkyrie + 1 Wizard
- 1 Golem
- 1 Witch + 4 Wizards + 2 Archers
- 1 Lava Hound
- 1 Dragon + 2 Wizard + 2 Archer
Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 9.
