BASE DESCRIPTION

Hey guys, it’s Dark Barbarian, and today we’re posting a fresh new Town Hall 13 base! This one’s a hybrid base, built to defend your loot while helping you maintain your trophy count. I’ll break everything down during the analysis part of the post, where we’ll go over the base’s structure, features, and strategy. That way, you can decide if switching to this layout is the right move for you.

Now let’s jump into the Base Analysis!

To start off, the Town Hall is securely located at the center of the base, just like in most of my hybrid layouts. Placing it here makes it harder for attackers to reach and helps protect the valuable loot it stores—as well as keeping that crucial one star out of enemy hands.

At Town Hall 13, the Giga Inferno is placed inside the Townhall. When an opponent’s troops come within its range, it activates and inflicts serious damage to the enemy troops. Its range covers most of our vital defenses, like the air-defense, eagle artillery, and inferno towers.

One of the biggest strengths of this base is its high number of compartments. These sections slow down enemy troops, often forcing them to run out of time or lose their attack flow. Units with lots of health like Golems and Giants can get stuck on walls, giving your defenses more time to take them down.

When we look at defensive coverage, all major defenses are placed to protect the entire base evenly. This way, no side is left weaker than another.

Mortars are placed in the outer compartments to counter spam-style attacks like BARCH G-Barch or mass Goblins. They’re positioned to cover most of the base but not the core—since weaker troops rarely make it that far in.

Archer tower is placeed in alternating outer compartments. Their placement provides balanced protection against both air and ground attacks, ensuring no single approach becomes too easy.

The Wizard Towers are positioned on the outside near key resource storages. Their splash damage helps fend off loot-stealing troops and also ensures they don’t all go down at once to a single attack wave.

For air defense, we’ve spread out the Air Defenses into separate compartments. This spacing helps prevent them from being all taken out by a few Lightning Spells. Their coverage spans nearly the entire base, which makes this layout solid against air strategies. To back them up, Air Sweepers are strategically placed to disrupt Lava Loons, Mass Dragons, and Electro Dragons attacks.

The Eagle Artillery, the strongest defense at Town Hall 13, is positioned right in the center. Its long range can hit targets across nearly the whole map—except for the first seven tiles, there is no need to worry about it because this area is protected by nearby defenses.

Inferno Towers—being the next most important defense—are placed close to the core, and their range protects the Town Hall, Dark Elixir storage, Eagle Artillery, and X-Bows.

You can switch their mode depending on what you’re facing. For low hitpoint and high troop count armies like miners, bowlers, and witches, multiple mode is recommended, but against stronger armies with high hitpoint and lower troop count like golems, electro dragons and pekkas, single mode would be a better choice.

Cannons are placed where they’re most needed to strengthen ground defense and fill any gaps in coverage.

The X-Bows are housed in secure compartments and set to both ground and air mode, since I’ve been targeted by both types of armies. Setting them to ground-only just for the extra range isn’t worth the risk in this case.

As for resource storages, they’re spread out across multiple compartments. One common mistake base designers make is grouping all storages together, which makes it easy for an attacker to steal all the loot if they get through. We avoid that by alternating the types of storages on different sides of the base, so you won’t lose all your Gold or Elixir in a single attack.

never put the same type of storages on one side of the base, for example, if we put both the gold storages on this side of the base, the attacker can take almost all your gold just by taking out this portion of the base. so in order to avoid that. we place them alternatively, just like this base.

Now let’s talk about trap placements. after observation of so many attacks on this base, spring traps are strategically placed in different compartments according to the pathing of defense attacking troops like hogs and giants, which helps in making this base stronger against ground attacks.

Bombs and Giant Bombs are set up to eliminate Wall Breakers. If they go off successfully, attackers will struggle to breach compartments, causing their troops to wander around the outside and lose momentum.

For air traps, Air Bombs and Seeking Air Mines are spaced out to weaken enemy air units, helping your air defenses finish them off before they can do too much damage.

now coming to the outer buildings you can customize where you want to put them according to your choice. just make sure you don’t put the same type of collectors all together, otherwise, the opponent will take all your loot in the collectors very easily, and one more thing you can also put them away from one another to prevent the chain lightning of electro dragon.

And that’s it for the base breakdown!

I’ve left a copy link for this base down below of the video so that you guys can easily copy this base.

BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS

Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 13 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 13 you can get Maximum of 45 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 13 :-

  1. 1 Lava Hound + 1 Head Hunter + 9 Archers (Recommended)
  2. 1 Lava Hound + 2 Head Hunter + 3 Goblins
  3. 2 Super Minnion + 2 Head Hunter + 3 Archers
  4. 1 Inferno Dragon + 2 Head Hunter + 7 Archers
  5. 1 Lava Hound + 1 Ice Golem

Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 13.
