BASE DESCRIPTION
Hey guys I’m Dark Barbarian, welcome back, today we are making a new Town Hall 12 Hybrid and Trophy Base, the basic layout for this base was sent to me on Instagram by one of my subscribers, if you have any base that you’d like to share, then please send it on my Instagram @darkbarbarianyt, coming back to the base, it’s going to help you in saving both your loot as well as your trophies, along with that we are going to do a complete breakdown of this base in the base analysis part of the video, so make sure you don’t forget to watch that, it’ll help you in understanding why I’ve put certain buildings on certain spots, so now I’m gonna let the speed build play, see you in the base analysis.
Let’s do the Base Analysis!
first of all, the clan castle is placed right in the core of the base, which makes it really hard for opponents to lure out the clan castle as its range is quite deep inside, so the opponent has to break through at least one wall and a few buildings before they can lure out our defending clan castle troops, which means the opponent has to spend a significant amount of troops to lure the cc troops, ultimately our cc troops will distract opponents troops, while they’re in the middle of the battle surrounded and attacked by our defenses.
eagle artillery is placed in the central compartment of the base, its the most powerful and important defense at town hall 12, so it only makes sense to place it at a spot where it’s most protected.
the town hall is well protected in the central compartment of the base as we want to save that one star and the loot in it.
Mortars start losing their importance as we start moving higher town hall levels, so there is no point in keeping them well protected in the center as they don’t provide much protection in return. we have placed them more towards the outer part of the base so that they can help us in countering spam attacks like BARCH, Mass Goblins, etc, They too are evenly placed and they cover the whole base.
Archer towers are organized in a way that their range covers the whole base, which means the base is well secured against air attacks from all sides.
The wizard towers are spread out, so that they don’t get taken out altogether while providing a balance to the base. they are placed in such a way they protect both main defenses in the core and the defenses towards the outer side of the base.
Air defenses are placed away from one another in different compartments to protect them from being taken out by lightning spells in a group. they are placed in compartments near the core of the base, they have air sweepers well paired with them contributing to an increase in the protection against air attacks like lava loon, mass dragons and mass electro dragons
the bomb towers are placed together in the core of the base, so that the double giant bombs deployed after the towers are destroyed can deal lethal damage to the opponent’s armies.
Inferno towers are placed right in the center of the base making the core of the base stronger, and helps in guarding our most important stuff on this base, like X-bows, town hall, eagle artillery, dark elixir storage.
you have to set the inferno tower mode according to the armies you’re getting attacked with, if you’re getting attacked with lower hitpoint but higher troop count armies, like miners, bowlers, and witches, then you should set it on multiple mode but if you’re getting attacked with high hitpoint troops like electro dragons, pekkas and golem, then setting it on single-mode would be a better option.
The Xbows are spread out in a way they provide cover to pretty much the whole base, they are set on both ground and air as I was getting attacked by both ground and air troops.
Cannons are placed evenly to provide a good balance to the base, so overall you can say the defenses are evenly distributed.
coming to storages, they are placed in pairs in different compartments away from one another, so that they don’t get taken out all together easily, and they’re also placed alternatively, so you don’t lose all of that one kind of resource if opponents take out some portion of the base, for example, if opponent manages to take out this portion of the base, you’ll lose all your gold, and its much better to lose your loot in a balanced way than loosing all loot of one kind.
The Dark elixir storage is placed near the core of the base, so it’s quite well protected, we have also kept our dark elixir drills inside, as carelessly throwing them anywhere outside of the base can definitely hurt your dark elixir farming process, as opponents would be able to steal it easily.
Now coming to the placement of the traps, after observation of so many attacks on this base, spring traps, and giant bombs are strategically placed in different compartments according to the pathing of defense attacking troops like hogs and giants, which helps in making this base stronger against ground attacks.
now coming to the outer buildings you can customize where you want to put them according to your choice. just make sure you don’t put the same type of collectors all together, otherwise, the opponent will take all your loot in the collectors very easily.

Even though the base itself is strong enough, having troops in your clan castle can help a lot, as clan castle troops will help you in wasting opponents troops and time, having clan castle troops is important to make the best use of the centralized clan castle feature on our base. BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS
Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 12 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 12 you can get Maximum of 40 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 12 :-
- 1 Baby Drag + 1 Ice Golem + 1 Witch + 3 Goblin (Recommended)
- 1 Lava Hound + 2 Balloon
- 2 Ice Golem + 1 Baby Dragon
- 3 Witch + 4 Archers
- 40 Archers
- 1 Witch + 4 Headhunters + 4 Goblins
Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 12.
