BASE DESCRIPTION

Hey everyone, it’s Dark Barbarian here, and today we’re building a brand-new Town Hall 12 base. This design is a hybrid, meaning it’s great for protecting resources while maintaining your trophy count. I’ll break down the base’s analysis in this post, covering all the details and strategies behind it to help you decide if switching to this base is the right move for you.

Let’s do the Base Analysis!

First off, the Town Hall is well-protected in the center of the base, as seen in many of my hybrid designs. This placement is crucial for keeping it safe since it’s worth one star and holds a significant amount of loot.

One of the best features of this base is the large number of compartments. These compartments slow down enemy troops, often causing them to run out of time or lose momentum. High-health troops like giants and golems usually get stuck on the walls, giving your defenses more time to take them down.

When it comes to defenses, they are situated in such a way that they protect the entire base and keep it strong from all sides.

Mortars are evenly placed in different compartments and their range pretty much covers the whole base, placing them there also helps us in tackling Spam attacks like BARCH and Mass Goblins.

Archer Towers are positioned strategically around the perimeter of the base, excluding the core, which isn’t a priority here. This ensures solid protection against air attacks from all directions.

Cannons are placed where they’re needed most, contributing to the overall balance of the base and enhancing its performance against ground attacks.

The wizard towers are spread out, so that they don’t get taken out altogether while providing a balance to the base. they are placed in such a way they provide protection to the outer portion of the base.

When it comes to air defenses, they are divided into different compartments to avoid being taken down as a whole by lightning spells. , their range covers almost the whole base inside the walls, and when paired with other air defense buildings, this base becomes a beast against air strikes. The air defenses are paired with air sweepers, which help to defend against air attacks such as lava loons, mass dragons, and Electro dragons.

The Eagle Artillery is positioned in the center of the base because it’s the most powerful defense at Town Hall 12. Its range covers the entire base except for the first 7 tiles, which are covered by other defenses.

Inferno Towers are vital defenses after the Eagle Artillery, so they’re placed near the core for added protection. They cover critical structures like the Town Hall, Dark Elixir storage, and key defenses like the Eagle Artillery and X-Bows. You should configure them based on the armies you face. Use multi-target mode for low-health, high-troop-count armies like miners, bowlers, and witches, and single-target mode for high-health troops like Electro Dragons, Pekkas, and Golems.

X-Bows are housed in four well-protected compartments near the core and set to target both ground and air troops. Since I’ve observed attacks from both types of armies, keeping them on dual mode offers better coverage than focusing solely on ground troops for extra range.

At Town Hall 12, we have two Bomb Towers placed in different compartments. They have a short range but pack a punch with splash damage similar to Giant Bombs that’s why We’ve positioned them alongside actual Giant Bombs to create a devastating combo, as seen in the clip where the opponent’s army was getting high damage by this setup.

Storages are spread across different compartments, unlike bases that cluster all storages together in one area. This makes it harder for attackers to loot everything. Each storage is in a separate compartment, forcing the attacker to take out the whole base to steal all the resources. never put the same type of storages on one side of the base, for example, if we put both the gold storages on this side of the base, the attacker can take almost all your gold just by taking out this portion of the base. so in order to avoid that. we place them alternatively, just like this base.

The Dark Elixir Storage is well-protected in the center of the base, along with the Dark Elixir Drills, which are placed inside the walls. Carelessly leaving drills outside can hurt your Dark Elixir farming, as opponents can steal it easily.

Traps are strategically placed after analyzing attack patterns. Spring Traps and Giant Bombs are positioned to target pathing troops like hogs and giants, making the base stronger against ground attacks. Bombs are placed to counter wall breakers, disrupting attackers’ funnels and forcing their troops to target outer trash buildings instead of the core. Air Bombs and Seeking Air Mines are placed near Air Defenses to weaken air troops, giving the defenses a better chance to finish them off.

For outer buildings, you can customize their placement, but avoid grouping the same type of collectors together. Grouping them makes it easier for attackers to steal resources quickly, so spreading them out is a smarter choice.

BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS

Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 12 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 12 you can get Maximum of 40 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 12 :-

  1. 1 Baby Drag + 1 Ice Golem + 1 Witch + 3 Goblin (Recommended)
  2. 1 Lava Hound + 2 Balloon
  3. 2 Ice Golem + 1 Baby Dragon
  4. 3 Witch + 4 Archers
  5. 40 Archers
  6. 1 Witch + 4 Headhunters + 4 Goblins

Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 12.
