BASE DESCRIPTION
What’s up guys? It’s Dark Barbarian here, back with another Town Hall 8 base design. Today, I’m showing you a new hybrid base that’s perfect for protecting your loot while still keeping your trophies intact. At Town Hall 8, we have an odd number of defensive buildings, which makes base building a little tricky, but don’t worry – I’ve got you covered with this design.
Alright, let’s dive into the Base Analysis!
First up, you’ll notice that I’ve placed the Town Hall right in the center of the base. This protects it from being easily sniped, and because it’s worth a star and holds a good amount of loot, keeping it in the core is essential for both trophy pushing and protecting your resources.
Now, what makes this base really stand out is how I’ve utilized compartments. You’ll see multiple well-spaced compartments throughout the base. This makes it harder for the enemy troops to push through and take out your defenses in one go. It forces their troops such as giants and golems to break through wall after wall, wasting time and allowing your defenses to deal consistent damage.
Now, onto defenses, we have the Mortars. which I’ve placed towards the center but not directly in the core. These are great for countering swarm units like Barbarians, Archers, and Goblins. Their range covers almost the entire base, making them a solid defense against low-level troop attacks.
At Town Hall 8, we have an odd number of key defenses, such as 3 Air Defenses, 3 Wizard Towers, 5 archer towers, 5 cannons, etc. The placement of these buildings is super important for their effective use.
I’ve placed the Air Defenses in separate compartments around the core of the base. This setup makes it harder for the attacker to take them all out with a few lightning spells. The air defenses cover a large portion of the base, providing solid protection against air attacks from all angles. air defenses team up with air sweepers for a robust defense against air attacks such as mass balloons and mass dragons.
The 3 Wizard Towers are also spread out in separate compartments. Since Wizard Towers deal splash damage to both ground and air troops, it’s important to space them out so they can protect different areas of the base. I’ve placed them in spots where they can cover some storages and defensive buildings in their range.
Archer towers are smartly placed to create a range that covers the entire base, ensuring all sides are locked down.
Cannons are tactically positioned to maintain an overall balance, countering ground attacks with finesse.
Bomb Tower is a solitary defense at th8, hence it must be combined with cannons to properly defend against ground attacks, The main threat to the hog army is the bomb tower, which performs as a giant bomb when it is destroyed.
let’s take a look at the placement of the storages
This is where most inexperienced base designs go wrong; they believe that in order to preserve loot, they should position all storages in the center while defenses are in the outer compartment, which is completely incorrect, because instead of conserving loot, we end up losing more. I’ll explain why: when we place storages in the center and defenses in the outer section of the base, if the opponent takes out those defenses in the outer section of the base, they can easily take out those storages in the center as well, because storages can’t defend themselves, so instead of putting them in the center, we’ve spread them out away from one another in the outer section of the base, so that we can put our most essential defenses in the middle and the storages next to our less important defenses.
We’ve also placed storages in alternate locations, so that if one side of the base is destroyed, we don’t completely lose that one sort of resource; if the attacker wants gold, they’ll have to take down the entire base to acquire all of your gold. I hope you got the storage arrangement right.
Now, let’s talk about the traps. Spring Traps are placed between compartments where enemy troops like Giants and Hogs are likely to walk through. This way, they get thrown out of the battle, weakening their push.
Giant Bombs are strategically placed near key defenses to surprise attackers, especially against ground troops like Hogs.
Bombs outside help deal with wall breakers, disrupting the attacker’s funnel and potentially wrecking the attack.
When it comes to the outside buildings, you may place them wherever you wish, Just make sure you don’t put the same kind of collectors together, or else the opponent will quickly grab all of your loot in the collectors.
And that’s a wrap for the Base Analysis.
Even though this base is strong on its own, I highly recommend keeping your Clan Castle filled with defensive troops. At Town Hall 8, having a Dragon or a few Valkyries in your Clan Castle can make a huge difference in defending against attacks. These troops can help distract and eliminate enemy units, giving your base even more stopping power.

BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS
Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 8 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 8 you can get Maximum of 25 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 8 :-
- 1 Witch + 3 Wizards + 1 Archers
- 1 Dragon + 1 Wizard + 1 Archer
- 1 Baby Dragon + 1 Witch + 3 Archers
- 1 Baby Dragon + 1 Valkyrie + 1 Wizard + 3 Archers
- 3 Valkyrie + 1 Archer
Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 8.
