Hey, what’s up, guys? It’s Dark Barbarian, and welcome back to another base building post. Today, we’re creating a brand new Town Hall 5 war/trophy base, and unlike my other layouts, this one’s designed for war strategies. It’s tailored to help you protect your stars for maintaining trophies. To get the full rundown of how this war base operates, be sure to catch the in-depth analysis section of the post. We’ll thoroughly dissect the base so that instead of blindly replicating it, you can fully understand the mechanics and strategic nuances behind its construction.

Let’s do the Base Analysis!

As u guys can see, Townhall is well protected in the central part of the base just like my other hybrid base designs because it is important to keep it safe and secure as it is worth one star and has a decent amount of loot in it.

now coming to the defenses, they are placed in such a way that they cover the whole base and the base remains strong from all sides.

The major defenses at th5 are mortar, air defense, and wizard tower; mortar is useful for ground splash damage. The wizzard tower is used to deal with air splash damage and air defense is used to defend against air-attacking forces such as balloons.

first talk about mortar, mortar is put in the middle compartment, its range covers all of the other defenses along with the right side outer buildings of the base, protecting us from spam attacks such as BARCH and mass goblins. The other outer side is well secured by our other defenses. It is the most serious threat to the group of giants.

The next main defense is the air defense, which has a range that pretty much covers the entire base and can slash the health of a balloon by around 90% with just one shot at Town Hall 5. When paired up with the Archer Tower, it transforms into a powerhouse against balloons.

The third main defense is the wizard tower, the sole building at Town Hall 5 capable of hitting both ground and air enemy troops with splash damage. It’s strategically placed in the central compartment for robust defense. Being able to target both ground and air troops makes it the most potent defense building at Town Hall 5. Its range covers not only our central main defenses but also extends to our outer defenses in the adjacent compartment.

Archer towers are situated in such a way that their range encompasses the whole base, ensuring that the base is properly protected against air attacks from all sides.

Cannons occupy the remaining areas in the base, providing a perfect balance that helps us defend against ground attacking troops.

Let’s break down how we’ve set up storage in our war base. We deliberately placed the storages outside the walls – no need to hide them behind defenses. You know, in war, our primary focus is cranking up those defenses to the max.
It’s all part of the strategy. We’re aiming for those stars in wars, so we’re all about reinforcing defenses behind walls. Storages are holding ground troops on the outside of the base.
But here’s the kicker – we don’t want storages to be easy pickings either. So, we’ve thrown in some protection for them too. We strategically dropped less crucial buildings in front of those storages, making troops take a bit of a scenic route before hitting the defenses. It’s about adding that extra layer of defense, so we can use those high hitpoints of storages as a wall to stop enemy troops distracted while our defenses deal heave damage to them.

Now coming to the placement of the traps, we have placed those spring traps there for taking out some giants when someone attacks from these sides.
and those bombs out there so that they can take out the wall breakers, which can potentially ruin attackers funnel as the troops wouldn’t be able to go inside the base and they’ll end up going for the outer trash buildings which will end up ruining the attack.
those air bombs are places there, after observation of so many attacks on this base and they reduce the health of balloons which directly helps our are defense.

coming to the outer buildings, I’ve placed them alternatively, such as avoiding placing the same type of collectors close to one another. I see most people not putting enough thought into those outer buildings, so they end up placing the same type of collectors all together. These collectors become an easy target to attackers when placed together, so it’s important to spread them out to make it harder for opponents to take them out.

Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 5 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 5 you can get Maximum of 15 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 5 :-

  1. 1 Valkyrie + 1 Wizard + 3 Archers (Recommended)
  2. 1 Baby Dragon + 1 Wizards + 1 Archers
  3. 1 Witch + 3 Archers
  4. 3 Balloons

Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but I highly recommend you to have above-mentioned troops for the best defensive experience at Town Hall 5.
