BASE DESCRIPTION
Hey everyone, it’s Dark Barbarian, and today we’re putting together a brand-new Town Hall 8 hybrid base, This one’s all about protecting our loot while still holding onto those valuable trophies, In the analysis part of the post, we’ll get into the details of this base breaking down its strengths and intricacies so you can decide if it’s the right fit for you.
Now, let’s dive into the Base Analysis!
As you can see, the Town Hall is well protected into the center, a strategy I consistently use in my other hybrid designs, It’s crucial to fortify it since it’s worth a star and holds a decent loot stash.
A standout feature here is the surplus of compartments spread throughout, This design messes with enemy troop paths, often leading to time running out or opponents running out of troops. It’s common to see enemy giants and golems getting stuck on walls.
Now, onto defenses, They’re strategically positioned to cover the entire base and provide all-around protection, Given the odd number of defense buildings at Town Hall 8, achieving a balanced defense from all sides needs careful planning.
Mortars lose relevance at higher Town Hall levels, so we’ve positioned them toward the outside where they can effectively fend off spam attacks like BARCH and Mass Goblins, They’re evenly distributed to cover the whole area.
Archer towers are smartly placed to create a range that covers the entire base, ensuring all sides are locked down.
Cannons are tactically positioned to maintain an overall balance, countering ground attacks with finesse.
Wizard towers, being the sole splash damage buildings at Town Hall 8, are compartmentalized to avoid being wiped out all at once, This setup ensures they can still deal splash damage where it’s needed.
Air defenses are segmented to avoid being wiped out by lightning spells, Placed near the core, they cover most of the base with their range and team up with air sweepers for a robust defense against air attacks such as mass balloons and mass dragons.
Bomb Tower is a solitary defense at th8, hence it must be combined with cannons to properly defend against ground attacks, The main threat to the hog army is the bomb tower, which performs as a giant bomb when it is destroyed.
When it comes to storage, it is evenly spread between many compartments, This is a typical error committed by inexperienced base builders, who place all storages in the center and defenses in the outer compartments, As a result, once the attacker has broken the defensive compartment, they have access to all of the loot, This is not the case with this base since the storage compartments are separated into many compartments; the attacker must take out the entire base to collect all of the loot.
also remember to not put the same kind of storage on the same side of the base; for example, if we put both gold storages on this side of the base, the attacker may grab practically all of your gold just by destroying this side of the base. As a result, in order to avoid this. We alternate their placement, much like this base.
On to trap placement, spring traps are placed strategically in various compartments, considering the pathing of attacking troops like hogs and giants.
Bombs and giant bomb outside help deal with wall breakers, disrupting the attacker’s funnel and potentially wrecking the attack.
all air mine and air bombs are spread throughout the bases peripheral so they can give initial damage to enemies air troops.
When it comes to the outside buildings, you may place them wherever you wish, Just make sure you don’t put the same kind of collectors together, or else the opponent will quickly grab all of your loot in the collectors.

Even if your base is powerful enough on its own, having defensive troops in your clan castle will benefit you a lot, since clan castle troops can help you waste opponents’ troops and time. Having clan castle troops is necessary to make the maximum use of our base’s centralised clan castle function. BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS
Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 8 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 8 you can get Maximum of 25 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 8 :-
- 1 Witch + 3 Wizards + 1 Archers
- 1 Dragon + 1 Wizard + 1 Archer
- 1 Baby Dragon + 1 Witch + 3 Archers
- 1 Baby Dragon + 1 Valkyrie + 1 Wizard + 3 Archers
- 3 Valkyrie + 1 Archer
Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 8.
