BASE DESCRIPTION

Hey guys, Dark BarBarian here, today we’re making a new Town Hall 4 hybrid base and I’m sure you are going to love it, This base is so good because of so many reasons about which I’ll tell you more later below. I’ll also explain the placement of storages and why placing some of the storages outside to keep the defenses inside is not a bad strategy, so don’t forget to watch the base analysis where I’ll do a breakdown of the base so that you can understand why I’m putting certain buildings in certain places.

Let’s do the Base Analysis!

First and foremost, the town hall is safely protected in the center, allowing us to maintain that one star and the storage kept within the town hall.

Our two most crucial defenses, mortar and air defense, are strategically placed in the center to make them the most difficult to reach. Placing them in the middle also means they cover the core of the base, so the base is mostly covered by mortar for spam attacks like BARCH and Mass Goblins, and the air defense covers the core of the base for air attacks like Mass Balloons.

The archer towers are placed in these two corners in such a way that they almost completely cover the base; the placement of the archer towers, together with air defense, makes this base tough to air attacks.

Cannons are also placed in such a way that they cover almost the whole base and provide a perfect balance to the base to protect against ground attacks such as giants, ensuring that overall defenses are properly dispersed and no side is vulnerable to any form of attack.

let’s take a look at the placement of the storages

To begin with, let’s talk about why those storages are placed outside. There aren’t enough walls at Town Hall 4 to put all of the storages and defenses inside except for a couple of designs that i’ve already made on this channel, so we have to choose whether we want to put our defenses outside or our storages outside. If we put the storages inside and the defenses that are outside are taken out, there will be nothing to protect those storages because they can’t defend themselves, So it makes much more sense to place defenses inside and use our storages as a tank for those defenses because storages have high hitpoints and can be used as a guard for our defenses. In this case, defenses protect storages by killing troops that attack the storages while storages protect the defenses by providing them enough time.

But it’s not like we’re giving away our storages just to protect our defenses; we’ve set up some measures to keep the storages safe as well, such as placing these unimportant buildings near the storages, which keeps the attacker troops engaged in useless buildings while our defenses target the opponent’s troops, and we’ve done this on both sides as well, so opponents will have to take out those trash buildings before reaching our storages.

I hope it’s clear that putting those storages outside doesn’t make this base a bad one.

let’s take a look at the placement of the traps,

We don’t have many traps at Town Hall 4, but we’re making the best of what we do have. I’ve set them after analyzing so many attacks and troop pathing like giants, those two spring traps are placed where troops such as giants are most likely to trigger them, We’ve put those bombs so that they can take out the wall breakers, which can potentially ruining the attackers’ funnel since troops won’t be able to enter the base, and these bombs also prevent the barch army from stealing the gold and elixir from the storages.

Now coming to our most important defense, the clan castle.

You’ll discover a number of high level clans that are sending troops to people and then kicking them, so simply join any of these clans and if you see the chat is active and other people are getting donations, just post a request for troops without any filter. sometimes you might get great troops like high level balloons etc and sometimes you might have to settle with barbarians and archers, after receiving the troops leave the clan before they kick you out, because if they kick you out, you won’t be able to join that same clan for the next 24 hours, so you can use this to get high level cc troops until you find a good donating clans, in short, have something in clan castle for defense, as cc troops are integral part of the defenses at lower town hall levels, so defending with the cc troops definitely improves the effectiveness of defense,

Coming to the outer buildings, I’ve placed them alternatively, like I’ve avoided placing the same kind of collectors close to one another, I see most people not putting enough thought while placing those outer buildings so they end up placing the same kind of collectors all together, these collectors become an easy target to attackers when placed together, hence it is important to spread them out to make it harder for opponents to take them out.

BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS

Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 4 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 4 you can get Maximum of 15 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 4 :-

  1. 1 Valkyrie + 1 Wizard + 3 Archers (Recommended)
  2. 1 Baby Dragon + 1 Wizards + 1 Archers
  3. 1 Witch + 3 Archers

Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above-mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 4.
