BASE DESCRIPTION
Hey guys, dark barbarian here, today we are making a new town hall 8 hybrid base because you guys have been requesting it for a long time, so here we go, this base has many features that make it so good for farming loot, I will discuss them one by one in the base analysis part and also clear your doubts regarding this base.
Let’s do the Base Analysis!
The first thing you can notice is that the town hall is well protected in the center, which is a good thing as we want to save that one star and the loot in it as much as possible.
the fact that this base has so many compartments also helps in slowing down opponents’ troops, so opponents troops like giants and golems are usually found stuck on walls.
Now coming to the defenses, it is quite hard to make a base that is balanced from all the sides at Townhall 8 because the defense buildings are odd in number, so you have to really plan out where to place the buildings so that no side is left weak to certain types of attacks.
As we progress up the town hall levels, mortars lose their significance, thus there’s no use in having them well protected at in the centre or near the centre of the base if they don’t give enough protection in return. Mortars are evenly placed in different compartments and their range pretty much covers the whole base, placing them there also helps us in tackling Spam attacks like BARCH and Mass Goblins.
The wizard towers are the only splash damage buildings we have at Townhall 8 that can attack both ground and air troops so we have placed them in different compartments so that they don’t get taken out altogether and provide splash damage coverage to the required place in the base.
Talking about air defenses, they are spread out, so that they don’t get taken out altogether, They are deployed in compartments near the base’s core, and they are combined with air sweepers, which contribute to increased defence against air attacks such as mass loons, mass dragons, etc.
Archer towers are situated in each outer compartment with appropriate distances among them, in order to cover the entire bases against air troops, placing them in this way provides a really good balance to the base, thereby making the base more effective against all kinds of attacks, be it an air attack or ground attack.
Cannons are appropriately positioned to offer a nice balance to the base, so overall the defences are evenly spread throughout the base.
Coming to the placement of barbarian king, this is where some people end up making mistake, underestimating its effectiveness they place him in some outer compartment from where he can be easily lured, but in our base, recognizing his effectiveness against ground attack strategies like hogs, I’ve placed him right in the core of the base, so that he’s not easily lured out and deal lethal damage to ground armies, apart from ground armies, barbarian king’s placement there also serves as a distraction for armies like mass dragon, where dragons instead of going for the air defenses gets distracted by king while our air defenses deal alot of damage to the dragons
Now, coming to the storages, they are placed in different compartments, unlike the bases you usually see where most of the storages are placed in a single compartment. each storage is placed in a different compartment that means the opponent has to take out the whole base in order to get all the loot.
We’ve also placed the storages alternatively, so that even if the opponent takes out this portion of the base, we don’t lose all the storages of the same kind of resources, for example, if we put all the gold storages on this side of the base, the attacker can take almost all your gold just by taking out this portion of the base. and if we are losing the loot, it’s better to lose it in a balanced way rather than losing all the loot of one kind of resource, so to avoid that, we place them alternatively, just like our base.
The Dark elixir storage is well protected in a compartment of its own in the core of the base, so it’s quite well protected, we have also kept our dark elixir drills inside as carelessly throwing them anywhere outside of the base can definitely hurt your dark elixir farming process as opponents would be able to steal it easily.
Now coming to the placement of the traps, after observation of so many attacks on this base, spring traps and giant bombs are strategically placed in different compartments and outside of the base according to the pathing of defense attacking troops like hogs and giants, which helps in making this base stronger against ground attacks.
we have placed those bombs out there so that they can take out the wall breakers, which can potentially ruin attackers funnel as the troops wouldn’t be able to go inside the base and they’ll end up going for the outer trash buildings which will end up ruining the attack.
All 3 teslas are placed in the core of the base, which really helps in making the central region or core of the base stronger, the seeking air mines are placed near the air defenses so that they can help the air defenses in taking out the dragons and balloon armies.
coming to the outer buildings, I’ve placed them alternatively, like I’ve avoided placing the same kind of collectors close to one another, I see most people not putting enough thought while placing those outer buildings so they end up placing the same kind of collectors all together, these collectors become an easy target to attackers when placed together, hence it is important to spread them out to make it harder for opponents to take them out.

BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS
Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 8 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 8 you can get Maximum of 25 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 8 :-
- 1 Witch + 3 Wizards + 1 Archers
- 1 Dragon + 1 Wizard + 1 Archer
- 1 Baby Dragon + 1 Witch + 3 Archers
- 1 Baby Dragon + 1 Valkyrie + 1 Wizard + 3 Archers
- 3 Valkyrie + 1 Archer
Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 8.
