hey guys, welcome back to another post, today we’re making a new town hall 9 hybrid/trophy base, because you guys have been requesting it for a long time, this base is quite unique because of some of its special features, I’ll talk more about them in the base analysis part and I’ll also clear some of the doubts you might have regarding this base.
let’s do the base analysis.
first of all, let’s discuss all these openings,
These outer openings, to some people this might seem like a problem, but we are going to use this to our advantage, those openings help us in forcing opponents troops to go where we want them to go, for example, in this clip giants went straight for the archer tower because of the opening, there, we have placed a spring trap and a giant bomb next to archer tower, which will get triggered on giants path to archer tower, this makes opponent use an early heal spell to save his troops and now opponent has to take out the whole base with one less spell, which is hard considering the defensive placements we’ve done, which I’ll discuss later.
as you can see we have placed some of these giant bombs outside the walls, when an opponent fails to funnel their troops properly, what usually happens is that giants or golems go for the defensive buildings while wizards or witches, go towards the outer buildings, this is where we can take advantage of this opportunity and take all of them out using a giant bomb, overall, these openings helps us in using our traps to their highest potential as we have created a specified path for opponents to walk on by creating these openings and in their path we’ve placed our traps.
now some of you might have a doubt, what if someone tries to create their own path using wall breakers to avoid the traps, for that, I made this base such a way its quite hard to make your own path, giants, and golems will go for those openings no matter what.
the openings aren’t the only good thing about this base, there is more to it, take a look at the number of compartments we have, having so many compartments in a base definitely makes it harder for the opponent because the troops are usually stuck on walls either they all die out or they run out of time.
moving forward, you can see that the town hall is well protected in the center, which is a good thing as we want to save that one star and the loot in it as much as possible.
Mortars start losing their importance as we start moving higher town hall levels, so there is no point in keeping them well protected in the center as they don’t provide much protection in return. we have placed them more towards the outer part of the base so that they can help us in countering spam attacks like BARCH, Mass Goblins, etc, They too are evenly placed and they cover the whole base.
Archer towers are placed in each corner of the base so that they cover the whole base and no side is left weaker to air attacks.
The wizard towers are placed in these three well-protected compartments near the core of the base away from each other so that they don’t get taken out altogether and strengthen the core of the base, ultimately leading to better defensive effectiveness.
Air defenses are placed away from one another in different compartments to protect them from being taken out by lightning spells in a group. they are placed in compartments near the core of the base, they have air sweepers well paired with them contributing to an increase in the protection against air attacks like lava loon, mass dragons.
Cannons fill the rest of the spaces in the base and provide a great balance to the base which helps us in defending against ground attack armies.
The Xbows are well protected in the central compartment such a way they protect most of our defenses, we’ve set them on both ground and air as we want protection against both air and ground attacks, the fact that they are placed right in the core of the base makes it hard for the opponents to reach them.
our Dark Elixir storage is well protected in the core compartment of the base, which is quite hard to get into, which means that our dark elixir is going to be safe in this base.
two of the dark elixir drills that we’ve placed outside have cannons next to them to provide them some sort of protection at least.
coming to the storages, we’ve spread them out at a distance from one another, now some of you might say “dark those storages are too close to the outer wall and can be easily taken out, they should be placed more towards the core” , in my defense, I’d like to say that, we should protect our main defenses at all cost even if it means sacrificing some of our storages, because let’s say you place your storages inside and put all your main stuff towards the outer compartment, what will happen is your main defenses will get taken out very easily and opponent’s troops will eventually take out your storages as well, because there will be nothing left to protect them, as all your defenses are gone, and storages can’t defend themselves, so it’s much better to place your storages in outer compartments rather than your main defenses, those storages have high hitpoints which help in distracting opponents troops and buying time for our main defenses so they can take out enemy troops, in this way we were able to save the rest of the base by sacrificing some of the storages,
but it’s not like we’re completely giving away our storages by throwing them outside the base, they’ll still be quite well protected between our main defenses and other defenses like archers and cannons.
also, we’ve placed the storages alternatively, if we put all the gold storages on this side of the base, the attacker can take almost all your gold just by taking out this portion of the base. so in order to avoid that. we place them alternatively, just like our base.
both the heroes are placed towards the core of the base, so they’re not easily lurable which is definitely a good thing.
I’ve already discussed the traps placements in the opening part, just wanted to add this one more feature that we have placed seeking air mines in the core of the base next to the air defenses, to help our air defenses in taking out those lava hounds faster.
now coming to the outer buildings, you can customize where you want to put them according to your choice. just make sure you don’t put the same type of collectors all together, otherwise, the opponent will take all your loot in the collectors very easily.
that’s pretty much it for the base analysis,

BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS
Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 9 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 9 you can get Maximum of 30 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 9 :-
- 1 Electro Dragon (Recommended)
- 1 Baby Dragon + 2 Valkyrie + 1 Wizard
- 1 Golem
- 1 Witch + 4 Wizards + 2 Archers
- 1 Lava Hound
- 1 Dragon + 2 Wizard + 2 Archer
Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 9.
