Hey guys I’m Dark Barbarian, welcome back to another post, today we are making a new Town Hall 7 Hybrid and Trophy Base, this base is going to help you in saving both your loot as well as your trophies, along with that we are going to do a complete breakdown of this base in the base analysis part of the post, so make sure you don’t forget to read that, it’ll help you in understanding why I’ve put certain buildings on certain spots.
Let’s do the Base Analysis!
now some of you might have a problem with these two cannons on why they’re placed outside, well, its because to make this kind of design, we didn’t have enough walls to keep all the storages and defenses inside, so I decided to place our not so important defenses outside, that is cannons. but placing these cannons outside isn’t necessarily a bad thing, on the contrary, I’d say it’s a good feature of this base,
let me explain, as we move to higher town halls most people use this feature on their bases because it kinda ruins attackers plan, for example, if an opponent wants to attack from this side, instead of going for this side, giants go for the cannon as this is closest and easiest defense they can get to, after taking out that cannon it is highly likely that the giants will go for the mortar next, so on their way to mortar they’ll trigger this giant bomb, which will result in opponent using an early heal spell, so you see what happened right there, first the opponent wanted to get inside the base from the bottom but our cannons lured the enemy troops away and then forced the opponent to use an early heal, what this does is, bring uncertainty to the attack, as opponents troops aren’t going where they want them to go, this can potentially lead to panic by the attacker and eventually a fail attack.

The next thing you’ll notice is that the townhall in the center is well defended because it contains loot and is worth one star, which is one of the basic rules to remember while building a hybrid base.
Mortars are evenly placed in three different compartments and their range pretty much covers the whole base, placing them there also helps us in tackling Spam attacks like BARCH and Mass Goblins.
Archer towers are placed in each corner of the base so that they cover the entirety of the base and no side is left weaker to air attacks.
Air defenses are placed away from one another in different compartments to protect them from being taken out by lightning spells in a group, they have air sweeper well paired with them contributing to an increase in the protection against air attacks like mass loon, mass dragons.
Their range covers almost the entire base except this part, but you don’t really have to worry about that, as this is basically a trap to incentivize air attackers to start their attack from the southern part of the base because they’ll think that air sweeper is facing the other direction and this area isn’t covered by air defense, so they can easily destroy the base by attacking from this side, but one thing they won’t account for is the number of high hitpoint buildings that will appear on their way to air defenses, these high hitpoint buildings take a lot of time to destroy, so dragons will be stuck on them for some time, while our air defenses will be dealing lethal damage to them, so I’ve tried it multiple times, it’s almost impossible to 3 stars this base if you attack with dragons from the southern part of the base, unless if you’re really rushed and have like level 3 defenses.
Moving forward, wizard towers are placed at a distance from one another in a well-protected compartment in the core of the base, as you already know, wizard towers are the most important defense at town hall 7, so placing them in any outer compartment won’t make any sense, so we have placed them in the core, so that they can provide air splash damage coverage to pretty much most of the base covering a lot of important defenses in their range.
Cannons are placed right where they are needed providing to the overall balance of the base and making this base perform pretty well against ground attacks.
Now coming to storages, they are evenly placed in different compartments, this is the mistake that most beginner base designers make that they place all the storages in the center, and defenses in the outer compartments. so once the attacker break through the compartment of defenses they get access to all the loot.
which is not the case in this base because the storages are placed in different compartments, the attacker has to take out the whole base in order to get all the loot.
our Dark Elixir storage is well protected in the core compartment of the base, which is quite hard to get into, which means that our dark elixir is going to be safe in this base.
Now coming to the placement of the traps, after observation of so many attacks on this base, spring traps are strategically placed in different compartments according to the pathing of defense attacking troops like hogs and giants, which helps in making this base stronger against ground attacks.
Both the teslas are placed in the core of the base, which really helps in making the core of this base stronger against popular attacks like mass dragons and mass hogs. the seeking air mine is placed next to the air sweeper so that they can help the air defenses in taking out the air attacking troops like balloons and dragon armies
now coming to the outer buildings you can customize where you want to put them according to your choice. just make sure you don’t put the same type of collectors altogether, otherwise, the opponent will take all your loot in the collectors very easily.

One more thing, this base is good enough on its own but make sure you have something in your clan castle for the defense because at lower town halls, defensive clan castle troops are an integral part of the defense, so if you want to boost your success rate, I definitely recommend getting a dragon or some valks in your clan castle for defense. that’s it for this post. BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS
Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 7 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 7 you can get Maximum of 20 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 7 :-
- 1 Baby Dragon + 2 Wizards + 2 Archers
- 1 Witch + 2 Wizards (Recommended)
- 2 Valkyries + 1 Wizard
- 1 Dragon
Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 7.
