Hey guys I’m Dark BarBarian, welcome back to another post, today we are making a new Town Hall 4 Hybrid, Trophy Base, Even though the storages will be placed outside, this base is going to help you in saving both your loot as well as your trophies, I’ll explain how that is going to work by doing a complete breakdown of this base in the base analysis part of the post, so make sure you don’t forget to watch that, it’ll help you in understanding why I’ve put certain buildings on certain spots.
Let’s do the Base Analysis!
first of all, let’s discuss why those storages are kept outside, well, its simply because there are not enough walls at town hall 4 to put all the storages and defenses inside, so we have to choose whether we want to place our defenses outside or our storages outside, if we put the storages inside and the defenses that are outside gets taken out there will be nothing to protect those storages as they can’t defend themselves, so it makes more sense to place defenses inside and use our storages as a tank for those defenses since those storages have high hitpoints they can be used as a guard for our defenses, in this case, defenses are protecting storages by killing the troops that attack the storages while storages are protecting the defenses by providing them time.
but it’s not like we’re giving away our storages just to protect our defenses, we have set up some measures to keep the storages protected as well, like we have placed these trash buildings close to the storages, what this does is keep the attacker troops engaged in useless buildings while our defenses will be targeting opponent’s troops, and we’ve done this on the other sides as well, so opponents will have to takeout those 3 trash buildings before reaching our storages.
I hope this made sense to you, that placing those storages outside doesn’t make this base a bad base.
let’s take a look at other stuff
The Next thing you can notice is that the town hall is well protected in the center in a compartment of its own, surrounded by all kinds of defenses, because it has some loot in it and it is worth one star, so it is one of the basic rules to keep in mind while making a hybrid base.
mortar is placed in a well-protected spot from where, its range covers pretty much the whole base, which helps us in tackling armies like mass goblins, BARCH, and other spam attacks.
the archer towers are placed in these two corners in such a way they pretty much cover the whole base,
for air defense placement, first, I thought of placing it over there, in the place of clan castle, but then I thought, if I where the attacker on this base, I would simply drop some giants and wall breakers in the lower part of the base to take out air defense and then some balloons on both these archer towers would do the job of destroying this base, hence, it would be better to place the air attacking close to one another they can’t be singled out and destroyed. now the base might look a bit weaker to air attack in the lower region, but you guys don’t have to worry about that, since the air attacking troop available at town hall 4 is balloons and they only attack defenses, so by the time balloons attack one of the cannons, they’ll already be in the range of our archer towers and air defenses.
Cannons are placed right where they are needed providing the overall balance to the base by strengthening the lower part of the base and making this base perform pretty well against ground attacks.
we don’t have a lot of traps at town hall 4, but whatever we have, we are making great use of them, I’ve placed them after observation of so many attacks and pathing of troops like giants, to make the trigger as many traps as we can, those bombs are placed there to protect storages from the archer, barbarian and goblins attacks so overall you guys don’t have to worry about the traps placements, they’re all good.
I’m gonna be straight up honest with you guys, this base will be more than enough on its own only if the attackers are attacking you without clan castle troops but if they have something their clan castle you’ll be getting Rekt every time unless you have something in your clan castle of defense as well. that’s why I always recommend lower town halls to have something in their cc for defense as it’s an integral part of the defense, especially at lower town hall levels. if no one in your clan donates try to join some request and leave clans, they were the ones that helped me grow when I was a Townhall 4 on my main and I couldn’t find a good donating clan, my cc recommendations would be valkyries or baby dragon with a balloon, but if you can’t get them, just have anything, something is better than nothing, that’s pretty much it for this video.

BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS
Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 4 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 4 you can get Maximum of 15 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 4 :-
- 1 Valkyrie + 1 Wizard + 3 Archers (Recommended)
- 1 Baby Dragon + 1 Balloon
- 1 Witch + 3 Archers
Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above-mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 4.
