Hey guys this is dark barbarian, and today we are making a new Town Hall 9 hybrid base, this base is a hybrid base which means it will help us in saving our loot while still maintaining our trophies, I’m gonna talk more about this base in-depth in the base analysis part of the video, which will help you in understanding ins and outs of the base, so that you can decide for yourself if this base is worth switching to, I will see you guys after the speed build.

let’s do the base analysis 

first of all, the clan castle is placed right in the core of the base, which makes it really hard for opponents lure out the clan castle as its range is quite deep inside, so the opponent has to break through at least one wall and a few buildings before they can lure out our defending clan castle troops, which means the opponent has to spend a significant amount of troops to lure out our defending cc troops, ultimately our cc troops will distract opponents troops while they’re in the middle of the battle surrounded and attacked by our defenses. 

Personally, when I was a TH9 myself, I really hated the bases where the clan castle was in the center, killing the cc troops itself was a taxing work let alone beating the base design, it also makes the base quite intimidating so you’ll see a lot of people skipping on your base.

let’s take a look at the other stuff

Barbarian King and archer queen are placed in the core of the base to prevent them from getting easily lured out and killed, when we place them in a well-protected spot, they can act like strong defenses to increase the effectiveness of the base, they can deal lethal damage to enemy troops especially to lava loon and hog armies, a queen combined with two air defenses can literally melt a lava hound in few seconds, they also keep enemy troops away from the core by taking them out as soon as possible. 

The Xbows are well protected in the central compartment such a way they provide protection to most of the defenses, we’ve set them on both ground and air as we want protection against both air and ground attacks, the fact that they are placed right in the core of the base makes it hard for the opponents to reach them and they are usually the last defenses left to be taken out.

The wizard towers are the only splash damage buildings we have at Townhall 9 that can attack both ground and air troops so we have placed them in different compartments so that they don’t get taken out altogether and provide splash damage coverage to the entire base. 

they are placed in such a way they provide protection to both main defenses in the core and the defenses towards the outer side of the base.

Air defenses are placed away from one another in different compartments to protect them from being taken out by lightning spells in a group. they are placed in compartments near the core of the base, they have air sweepers well paired with them contributing to an increase in the protection against air attacks like lava loon, mass dragons.

 Mortars are evenly placed in different compartments and their range pretty much covers the whole base, placing them there also helps us in tackling Spam attacks like BARCH and Mass Goblins.

Archer towers are arranged in such a way that their range covers the whole base, which means the base is well secured against air attacks from all sides.

Cannons are placed evenly to provide a good balance to the base, so overall you can say the defenses are evenly distributed.

Now, coming to the storages, they are placed in different compartments in a pair of two at a distance from one another, unlike the bases you usually see where most of the storages are placed in a single compartment. each storage is placed in a different compartment that means the opponent has to take out the whole base in order to get all the loot.

We’ve also the storages alternatively, so that even if the opponent takes out this portion of the base, we don’t lose all the storages of the same kind of resources, for example, if we put all the gold storages on this side of the base, the attacker can take almost all your gold just by taking out this portion of the base. and if we are losing the loot, it’s better to lose it in a balanced way rather than losing all the loot of one kind of resource, so to avoid that. we place them alternatively, just like our base.

the storages are placed between an inner ring of main defenses and an outer ring of other defenses like archers, cannons, and mortars, so overall I’d say storages are quite well protected.

The Dark elixir storage is placed in a compartment in the core of the base with both our heroes guarding it, so it’s quite well protected, we have also kept our dark elixir drills inside as carelessly throwing them anywhere outside of the base can definitely hurt your dark elixir farming process as opponents would be able to steal it easily.

Now coming to the placement of the traps, I’ve observed so many attacks on this base, and found some spots where most opponents are likely to drop their troops on and the pathings where troops are most likely to walk through, and according to that I’ve placed these traps on those spots,

the seeking air mines are placed next to the air defenses, to help the air defenses in taking out the lava hound, and you can see the air bombs are placed in the core, I didn’t place them exactly next to the air defenses because I don’t want these air bombs to pop on the lava hound, they’ll barely scratch the lava hound, instead, I want to use them according to their specification that is splash damage, this is how it’ll play, first the lava hound will be destroyed by our air defense and seeking air mine, before they can reach our core of the base, and the balloons behind that lava will be going to the core after taking out the air defense, and as soon as they get in range of air bombs they’ll get triggered and deal lethal splash damage to enemy balloons and pups.

now coming to the outer buildings you can customize where you want to put them according to your choice. just make sure you don’t put the same type of collectors all together, otherwise, the opponent will take all your loot in the collectors very easily.

that’s it for the base analysis 

Make sure you have something in your clan castle for defenses, otherwise placing the clan castle in the center will reap you no benefits, defending clan castle troops helps in wasting opponent’s time and troops, hence it is really important to have something inside, especially on this base, as centralized clan castle is our main feature, my cc recommendation would be an Electro dragon, but you can’t get it no worries, anything will do the job, now I’ve left a copy link for this base in the description and the first pinned comment, so you guys can copy it easily, that’s it for this video, I’ll see you guys in the next one.


Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 9 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 9 you can get Maximum of 30 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 9 :-

  1. 1 Electro Dragon (Recommended)
  2. 1 Baby Dragon + 2 Valkyrie + 1 Wizard
  3. 1 Golem
  4. 1 Witch + 4 Wizards + 2 Archers
  5. 1 Lava Hound 
  6. 1 Dragon + 2 Wizard + 2 Archer

Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 9.


  1. Hard to Lure Clan Castle in the center

  3. Great Traps placement
  4. Wizard Towers in well-protected compartments
  5. Beast Against Ground & Air Attacks
  6. Both Heroes placed in the central compartment making the core stronger
  7. Mortars placed in outer compartments to stop spam attacks
  8. X-bows in well protected central compartments
  9. Archer Towers covers pretty the whole base.
