Hey guys, I’m dark barbarian today we’re making a new Town Hall 4 base because I have done a lot of mid town hall bases like 6’s 7’s 8’s and 9’s on this channel, so I thought of doing some lower town halls and eventually, I’ll be doing some higher town hall like 10 11 12 and 13, so we’ll get everything covered, coming back to the base, this base is a hybrid base which means it’ll help you in saving both your loot as well as your trophies, even though the storages will be outside, most of our loot will be protected, I’ll tell you why in the base analysis part of the video which will help you in understanding how this base actually works and I will clear all your doubts regarding this base, for now, I’ll let the speed build play see you in the base analysis.
First of all, let’s discuss what’s up with the storages, and why I’ve placed them outside, well, its simply because there are not enough walls at town hall 4 to put all the storages and defenses inside, so clearly have to make a choice whether we want to place our defenses outside or our storages outside, most beginners will think, oh I wanna protect my loot I should place the storages inside to keep them safe, but that’s a bad decision because if we put the storages inside and the defenses that are outside gets taken out there will be nothing to protect those storages as they can’t defend themselves, so it makes more sense to place defenses inside and use our storages as a tank for those defenses since those storages have high hitpoints they can be used as a guard for our defenses, in this case, defenses are protecting storages by killing the troops that attack the storages while storages are protecting the defenses by providing them time.
but it’s not like we’re giving away our loot just to protect our defenses, we have set up some measures to keep the storages protected as well, like we have placed these trash buildings in close to the storages, one building is right in front of the storage, and the other two buildings slightly ahead of the storage by one tile, what this does is keep the attacker troops engaged in useless buildings while our defenses will be targeting opponent’s troops, and we’ve done this on other sides as well, so opponents will have to takeout those 3 trash buildings before reaching the juicy storages.
I hope this made sense to you, that placing those storages outside doesn’t make this base a bad base.
oh almost forgot to explain this opening, well again, not enough walls to complete the base, but don’t worry, we have a spring trap here, and honestly, I thought people would bait the trap but to my surprise, most attackers weren’t smart enough to predict the trap and they ended up losing some giants every time they attacked from this side, so that’s good.
now let’s take a look at the other stuff
As u guys can see, Townhall is well protected in the central part of the base just like my other hybrid base designs because it is important to keep it safe and secure as it is worth one star and has a decent amount of loot in it.
Mortar is placed in the central compartment of the base and it covers pretty much all the defenses and a large portion of this outer region to protect our storages, so that’s a good thing.
Archer towers are arranged in such a way that their range covers the whole base, which means the base is well secured against air attacks from all the sides
The air defense is placed in a well-protected compartment at the spot from where it’s range covers a large portion of the base or you could say pretty much the whole base.
Cannons are placed right where they are needed providing to the overall balance of the base and making this base perform pretty well against ground attacks.
the clan castle, we’ve placed it outside, since we can’t do the unlurable clan castle stuff here, as the base is too small, and the cc doesn’t hold a lot of loot, so i don’t think it’s necessary to put it inside, especially at a lower town hall like 4
those two small bombs are those for protection against spam attacks like BARCH and mass goblin

I’m gonna be straight up honest with you guys, this base will be more than enough on its own only if the attackers are attacking you without clan castle troops but if they have something their clan castle you’ll be getting Rekt every time unless you have something in your clan castle of defense as well. that’s why I always recommend lower town halls to have something in their cc for defense as its an integral part of the defense especially at lower town hall levels. if no one in your clan donates try to join some request and leave clans, they were the ones that helped me grow when I was a Townhall 4 on my main and I couldn’t find a good donating clan,

This base is Anti Giant Wizard, Anti BARCH, Anti Giant Barb. Since the Air Defense in the base is placed in the center of the base, it is well protected to protect against air attacks like Balloon Parade and other air attacks. The traps are placed in the right spots as well which counters attacks like BARCH, Goblins and Giant wizard attacks. It can also defend against some newly upgraded Town hall 5 attackers with ease. So, overall in this base layout all the defensive buildings are well placed, hence, this base can easily defend against any Air attacking and Ground Attacking strategy at Town Hall 4.
BEST DEFENSIVE CLAN CASTLE TROOPS COMBINATIONS
Using clan castle troops for defending your base is highly recommended as they can put the attacker in trouble by distracting them. Even though the base alone is sufficient to stop most of the attacks used by Town Hall 4 attackers, using the clan castle can help a lot. At Town Hall 4 you can get Maximum of 15 housing space in your clan castle, here are some of my recommendations for CC troops combinations for defense at Town Hall 4 :-
- 1 Valkyrie + 1 Wizard + 3 Archers (Recommended)
- 1 Baby Dragon + 1 Wizards + 1 Archers
- 1 Witch + 3 Archers
Since most people can’t get these troops from their clans, you can also use other troop combinations which are easily available like all wizards, all balloons or any other troop combination but i highly recommend you to have above-mentioned troops for best defensive experience at Town Hall 4.
